Azeri, Turkish clerical leaders propose to build mosque in Baku
The Caucasian Muslims Clerical Office and the Turkish Ministry of Religious Affairs appealed to the head of executive power of Baku to build a new mosque.
The mosque, visited by Turkish citizens living in Baku, has suspended its activity in connection with the repair work. The mosque located in the center of the city hampers traffic.
"Taking into account the above-mentioned, we want you to give instructions to allocate a land plot to build a new mosque, as the symbol of Turkish-Azerbaijani brotherhood," the statement says.
