Azerbaijan to up defense spending in 2012
Azerbaijan plans to spend budget funds worth over 1.381 billion
manats ($1.770 billion) on defense and security in 2012, or 1.2
percent over 2011, the Finance Ministry said. According to the 2012
draft state budget, released by the ministry, defense spending will
account for 14.8 percent of next year’s total budgetary
expenditure. The figure is 1.9 percent above 2011.
