Azeri president and first lady meet former UNESCO head
Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO goodwill ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva met on Monday former director general of UNESCO Koïchiro Matsuura.
Matsuura underlined importance of the Baku International Humanitarian Forum. He said very important humanitarian initiatives had been carried out in Azerbaijan in recent years. Matsuura described the participation of prominent scientists and public figures at the forum as an international interest to the event.
President Aliyev, in turn, expressed satisfaction with his meeting with Matsuura again in Azerbaijan.
Aliyev described the Baku forum as an important event. He added Azerbaijan had already become the center of international humanitarian initiatives.
