PACE condemns murder of 13-year old Azeri by Armenians

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has adopted a statement condemning the murder of 13-years old Azerbaijani girl by the Armenians.

Parliamentarians from various countries represented in the Assembly signed the document prepared by member of the Azerbaijani delegation PACE Ganira Pashayeva.

The statement reads: "In July this year Armenian Armed Forces killed another child after murdering 9-year old Azerbaijani boy Fariz Badalov on March 8 by a sniper from positions in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. The 13-year-old Azerbaijani girl Aygun Shahmaliyeva became a new victim of Armenia`s inhumane and immoral policy in the Alibayli village of Azerbaijan`s Tovuz region, which borders Armenia. The Armenian side deliberately dropped a toy with an explosive device into the river flowing to the village. Aygun, who found the toy, brought it home and the innocent girl tragically died as a result of the explosion. The murder of children in such way is a tragedy of humanity," the document reads.

The statement also underlines that every child must live in peace and get education. "However, 13-year old Aygun Shahmaliyeva was deprived of these rights as a result of Armenian aggression. This tragedy was condemned by some international organizations, including UNICEF. Taking into consideration the fact that the murder of every child is a great tragedy, PACE strongly condemns the tragic murder of the 13-year-old Azerbaijani girl Aygun Shahmaliyeva by Armenia and expresses its deep sorrow for this incident".
