Lukashenko: Belarus-Azerbaijan dialog promotes co-op
President Alexander Lukashenko has said "active and open dialogue" between Belarus and Azerbaijan gives "special dynamics" to bilateral cooperation, Belarusian Belta news agency reported.
"Azerbaijan was the first country to support us in our hardest times. I request that you convey my appreciation to the Azerbaijani president for this assistance," Lukashenko said while accepting Azerbaijani Ambassador Isfandiyar Vahabzada's credentials on Tuesday.
Lukashenko also said "practical steps" are to be taken to implement the agreements previously reached with Azerbaijan in the energy sector.
He added that the intensity of bilateral meetings and the issues being discussed support the conclusion that Belarus and Azerbaijan "need each other".
