Hackers crash Azeri opposition paper’s website

Hackers attacked Azerbaijani main opposition newspaper Yeni Musavat’s website, cutting off access to it since 10 p.m. on Thursday, Khalid Kazymly, web editor of the website, told Radio Liberty.

Editor-in-chief Rauf Arifoglu suspects the attack could have been carried out by the Defense Ministry, which has lately come under criticism in the newspaper’s articles.

The ministry has termed the allegations as baseless, with deputy spokesman Teymur Abdullayev accusing Yeni Musavat of "lies and libel".
