Ring of Azeri drug dealers exposed in Russia
ST. PETERSBURG – Russian police have exposed an Azerbaijani group engaged in selling drugs.
At least seven people, aged 23 to 34, were part of the ring, Russian media quoted the drug enforcement agency’s department in the Arkhangelsk province as saying.
"Large portions of heroin were being brought to the province from St. Petersburg. The narcotic substances were transported both by rail and vehicles," it said.
During a search police officers impounded about 700 grams of heroin from the outlaws.
The key members of the ring have been arrested. They face up to 20 years’ imprisonment, if convicted.
