Drafting unit scrutiny reveals graft, one detained
BAKU – A former deputy military commissar has been detained in Baku after corrupt practices were revealed at a drafting unit during a scrutiny by law enforcers.
Davud Huseynov, who retired a few months ago from the Khatai district commissariat, which drafts men for military service, was ordered by a court to be held in detention pending trial, the Baku-based APA news agency quoted law enforcement sources as saying.
Several more employees of the Khatai commissariat may be arrested based on the findings of the scrutiny, the sources say.
The Military Prosecutor’s Office, which is conducting the scrutiny, has confirmed Huseynov’s arrest.
