Azerbaijan buys two high-speed boats from Turkey: ministry
BAKU – Azerbaijan has purchased two high-speed boats from Turkey to be used by the coast guard, for search and rescue operations and in pursuit of violators, according to the Turkish defense ministry.
The ministry did not cite the Turkish company or organization that sold the boats.
"Several Turkish companies and a number of Azerbaijani bodies are currently discussing sale of vessels and boats as well as their manufacturing in Azerbaijan. As for the proposal made by a Turkey-based company to produce large boats in Baku for Azerbaijan, it is being reviewed by the Azerbaijani government," the ministry said.
Azerbaijan purchased several high-speed boats from Turkey in 2010.
