US embassy spokesperson to take up duties in August
BAKU – Victoria Sloan, who has been appointed head of public relations at the US embassy in Azerbaijan, will embark on her duties in August, the embassy said.
Sloan succeeds Terry Davidson, who has recently completed his duties and returned to the United States.
The newly appointed embassy spokesperson has been studying Azerbaijani at a language studies center in Washington in past months. Sloan is also reportedly fluent in Russian, which is widely spoken in Azerbaijan.
Prior to her appointment to Azerbaijan, Sloan held the same positions at the US embassies in Kazakhstan, Georgia and Latvia.
