Over 70 police officers sacked in 15 months over bribery
BAKU – 71 Azerbaijani police officers have been dismissed in the past 15 months over bribery, the interior ministry said.
22 policemen faced punitive action and 11 others were demoted on these charges, and the cases of eight law enforcers were sent to prosecution bodies, it said.
Minister Ramil Usubov told a meeting at the ministry Wednesday that 497 criminal groups have been nabbed in the country in the past three years over more than 1,000 crimes related to violations of property rights.
