Gang slays four in Baku
A series of chilling murders were committed in the center of
Baku on Tuesday morning.
A criminal group entered an apartment in the Narimanov district,
killing the residents and burning the dead bodies in a single room
afterwards. The victims included a woman, her two daughters and
seven-year-old grandson.
According to preliminary estimates, the murders were perpetrated
with the aim to rob the hosts, although the incident was initially
reported as a fire. Investigators who arrived at the scene made the
conclusion after seeing things scattered around the apartment
rooms.
It is not ruled out that the criminals had tortured the residents
to find out the location of valuables in the household.
Investigators have yet to ascertain which items were stolen.
The owners were presumably involved in buying and selling
apartments in newly-constructed buildings.
