Aliyev views tourism fair
BAKU – Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva on Friday familiarized themselves with exhibitions "AITF 2011" 10th Azerbaijan International Tourism and Travel Fair and 2nd Azerbaijan Domestic Tourism Exhibition, the Azerbaijani President's website reported.
Azerbaijani Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfaz Garayev informed the president that AITF welcomes 230 companies from 24 countries, presenting 61 tourism destinations.
President Aliyev was told the 2nd Azerbaijan Domestic Tourism Exhibition features 83 companies from 15 regions.
The supporter of the event is the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, while ITE Group plc and Iteca Caspian are co-organizers.
The country partner of AITF is Turkey, while the official Airline is AZAL.
The exhibition features national stands of Turkey, Egypt, Georgia, Russia, Dagestan Republic of Russian Federation, the Czech Republic, Greece and India.
The president and his spouse viewed the stands reflecting tourism potential of Azerbaijan`s various regions and foreign countries. They watched the stand reflecting international achievements of Azerbaijan National Culinary Center.
