Dust in Baku ‘came from Arab deserts’
BAKU – Whirls of dust that have been seen in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, in past days came from the Arab deserts, the environment ministry has found.
The dust has risen to the top layers of the atmosphere, reaching Azerbaijan with southern and south-western currents.
Dust levels in the air are presently double the norm on average, the ministry said.
Dusty weather in Baku is expected to ease from Wednesday, weather forecasters say.
