Ahmadinejad sees no hurdles to friendly ties with Azerbaijan
TEHRAN – Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Monday hosted Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister Elchin Afandiyev, who is visiting Tehran to attend an international event devoted to the Novruz holiday, according to the Iranian president’s website.
"The relations between Iran and Azerbaijan are fraternal. Not a single factor can disrupt these relations," Ahmadinejad said.
"Iran considers Azerbaijan’s development as its own and is ready to cooperate in all areas, serving the interests of both nations," he said.
Afandiyev said in turn that his country has always been interested in further development of its relations with Iran.
