Islamic group`s chief urges Armenian pullout
ANKARA – Armenia must swiftly withdraw its armed forces from the occupied Azerbaijani territories, the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) chief said in a statement carried by Turkey’s Zaman daily on Thursday.
"Talks on the issue should be carried out in line with the decisions of such international organizations as the UN, OSCE and OIC," OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu said.
He tersly condemned the Khojaly massacre committed by Armenians against Azerbaijanis in 1992 during the Karabakh war.
20 percent of Azerbaijan’s territory, including Nagorno Karabakh and seven adjacent districts, has been under Armenian occupation since the brutal war in 1990s. OSCE-brokered peace talks have been largely fruitless so far.
