Azeri electoral body chief re-elected
BAKU – Azerbaijan`s newly formed senior electoral body re-elected Mazahir Panahov as its chairman at a first meeting on Thursday.
Natig Mammadov was elected the Central Election Commission (CEC) deputy chairman, while Mikayil Rahimli and Arifa Mukhtarova as secretaries of the commission.
Presidential Administration chief Ramiz Mehdiyev, who attended the meeting, issued his recommendations to the CEC members.
So far, Mazahir Panahov has acted as the CEC chairman, while Shaitdin Aliyev served as his deputy, and Natig Mammadov held the post of a CEC secretary. The position of the other CEC secretary had been vacant.
