French lawmaker calls for Armenian pullout
BAKU – Armenia must return the Azerbaijani territories it occupies and honor international law, a French lawmaker has said, adding that Paris’ stance on the issue is unequivocal.
Member of the French Senate Nathalie Goulet told the press in Baku Wednesday that Azerbaijan is in no need to promote its interests.
"The truth is on Azerbaijan’s side, because its land is under occupation," she said.
Armenian armed forces have occupied over 20 percent of Azerbaijan's internationally recognized territory since a war in the early 1990s. The ceasefire accord has been in place since 1994, but years of OSCE-brokered peace talks have been largely fruitless.
