Ruling party blasts anti-Azeri TV broadcasts in Iran
TEHRAN – The governing Yeni (New) Azerbaijan Party (YAP) has condemned the anti-Azerbaijan propaganda being pursued by an Iranian TV channel.
YAP’s deputy chairman Ali Ahmadov said that Iranian media outlets should not contradict the official position of Iran that has been repeatedly stated by the country’s government, which says it supports Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity.
The neighboring country’s Sahar TV channel has carried broadcasts defying Azerbaijan, with the Armenia-occupied Nagorno-Karabakh region being presented as an independent state.
Ahmadov made clear that Azerbaijan does not interfere with other countries’ internal affairs and calls upon other states to do the same.
"We are ready to continue developing and expanding comprehensive relations with Iran on the basis of mutual respect and the principle of national priorities," he said.
The YAP official called on Iranian government agencies to scrutinize the mentioned facts and establish which forces are behind such television broadcasts.
