The gunmen, who barged into the gas station located in a village of the Aghstafa region, were military men, according to the Defense Ministry.
The ministry said in a statement that three servicemen – a junior sergeant and two privates - intruded into the gas station in the early hours on Monday. The Defense Ministry immediately launched an investigation, identifying and arresting the suspects.
According to the Aghstafa region’s prosecutor’s office, having entered the gas station, the servicemen gunned down the 33-year-old employee Mammad Mammadov from a submachine gun. The outlaws escaped from the scene without taking cash from the gas station.
