50 percent of Azeris use internet
BAKU – The number of internet users in Azerbaijan makes up approximately 50 percent of the population. Access to the broadband Internet averages 12 percent, the indicator which is double the world indices. In the past two years, Internet fees have become cheaper by an estimated 10 times.
The ICT sector has grown 5 times in the last six years, with annual growth rate of 30-32 percent, the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies said. The figure is three times larger than the world indices.
