OSCE chair Lithuania’s leaders plan visits to Caucasus
VILNIUS – Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite intends to visit the Caucasus countries in an effort to assist in settling the "frozen" conflicts within the OSCE, a European security organization that Lithuania chairs this year, Grybauskaite’s press service said.
"The priorities have been cited by the president – comprehensive support to the settlement of ‘frozen’ conflicts’," the Lithuanian president’s spokesman Linas Balsys told journalists. "In this connection, visits are due both by the [foreign] minister and the president to the Caucasus region and other hotspots where these conflicts are ‘frozen’ and where it is necessary to consider and observe the situation and to seek solutions that are common for the OSCE."
However, the Lithuanian president’s administration has not yet cited the dates of the planned visits.
