Azeri official accuses int’l groups of indifference to Karabakh conflict
BAKU – Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Ali Hasanov accused international organizations and several countries of indifference to resolving the Nagorno Karabakh conflict with Armenia.
"International organizations and several countries are not interested in resolving the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict," Ali Hasanov told press on Thursday.
The presence of a conflict in this region meets several countries' interests, as countries that received the sovereignty after the collapse of the Soviet Union became dependent on them, Hasanov said. According to him, thus the international organizations and some countries were able to rule the region with a view to using natural resources. "The past 20 years showed that international organizations are at times interested in the unresolved state of the conflict more than Armenia is."
