Former OSCE envoy sees no alternative to peaceful Karabakh settlement
YEREVAN – There is no alternative but to find a peaceful settlement to the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, former special envoy of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Goran Lennmarker said.
"The international community has a concept for resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict," Lennmarker said at a news conference in Yerevan, Armenia Today reported.
He stressed that the conflicting sides should focus their political will to find a solution to the Karabakh conflict, and not merely a technical solution to the problem.
"Both Armenia and Azerbaijan must give up politics of mutual accusations and begin internal debates and discussions about whether there is a willingness to resolve the conflict," he said. "The public must be prepared for a political solution and compromise."
