Azerbaijan, Turkey to launch missile production - report
BAKU – Azerbaijan and Turkey will jointly produce powerful missile launchers, Turkish military officials who visited Baku on Wednesday told the Baku-based APA news agency.
Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense Industry and Turkish missile manufacturer Roketsan have signed an agreement on the production of 107 and 122 mm rocket launchers. Under the contract, the rockets will be produced in Azerbaijan, with some spare parts to be delivered from the neighboring country.
Roketsan’s 107 mm long-range missiles have a span of 11 km, 50 percent more than conventional 107 mm missiles.
122 mm missiles have a span that is double the range of conventional 122 mm missiles. The missiles, which have two warheads, can hit targets over a distance of 40 km.
