Azeri civilian injured in mine blast
BAKU – An Azerbaijani civilian was hit by a mine near the line of contact with Armenian troops on Thursday.
The 59-year-old resident of Azerbaijan’s Aghdam district was severely injured after the anti-tank mine exploded while he was grazing cattle on a horse in the Khojavand region, the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) said.
The man lost his right leg in the blast and is in grave condition.
Azerbaijan and Armenia fought a lengthy war in the early 1990s. Explosives remain in the frontline regions.
