Karabakh separatists’s book fair provocation fails
BAKU – Karabakh separatists failed to take part in one of the world’s biggest book fairs, the Frankfurt Book Fair.
The Armenian media reported the so-called "Nagorno-Karabakh republic" would have a separate pavilion at the fair. Azerbaijan’s embassy in Germany made an inquiry about the case and contacted organizers of the fair, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.
The embassy said in a letter of explanation that this was political provocation by Armenia.
After the embassy's interference, the organizers responded that the Nagorno-Karabakh separatist regime would not attend the exhibition in line with the Azerbaijani embassy’s demand and that the contract with their representatives had been annulled.
The organizers also removed any references to the separatist regime from the fair’s web page and catalogue.
The fair runs from 6 to 10 October.
