Azerbaijan circulates document on Nagorno-Karabakh in CoE
BAKU – A member of the Azerbaijani delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has prepared a document on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, which was distributed after its publication in English and French.
The document, compiled as a written request, is titled "The need for speeding up a peaceful solution of Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict".
According to the statute of the PACE, written declarations are not only published and circulated, but also declared at the plenary session by the presidium. If more parliamentarians sign the document during the session, the written declaration is republished by adding these signatures. This means that the number of people becoming familiar with the document doubles, in other words, even more exposure of Armenia as an aggressor.
Azerbaijani delegate Rafael Huseynov said that the document once again exposes the hypocrisy of the Armenians.
The document reflects the occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia, and despite the turning of about one million people into refugees and internally displaced persons, the loss of thousands of people, indicates the consistent efforts of Azerbaijan in resolving the conflict peacefully, without the use of military means.
By stating again the undesirability of the indicated level of relations between its member states, the Assembly finds it necessary to increase efforts towards a settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict by diplomatic and peaceful means, the document says.
