High-ranking Italian Senate member urges to boost parliamentary relations with Azerbaijan
BAKU – The visiting Italian Senate European Policy Committee Chairman called for closer ties between the parliaments of Azerbaijan and Italy on Friday.
Italian parliamentary delegation headed by Senator Rosanna Boldi, who also chairs the Azerbaijan-Italy parliamentary friendship group, arrived in Baku for a two day official visit.
"The visit aims at strengthening the friendly relations between Italian and Azeri parliaments," Boldi was quoted as saying.
She believes that certain steps should be taken to develop the cooperation between the parliaments of two countries.
During the visit she is expected to meet with the Parliament Speaker Ogtay Asadov, Chairman of the International Relations and the Inter-parliamentary Relations Committee Samad Seyidov, as well as members of Italy-Azerbaijan Inter-parliamentary Friendship Group and Foreign Ministry officials.
