UN Secretary-General rep on human rights due on visit
BAKU – The UN Secretary-General representative on human rights of refugees and IDPs (internally displaced persons), Prof. Walter Kälin, is expected to visit the South Caucasus on September 13-18.
During the visit the UN official will get familiar with the situation of refugees and IDPs affected by conflicts in the region. He will hold meetings with the government officials and representatives of the civil society.
Kälin will conclude his trip to the region by visiting Yerevan on September 17.
Walter Kälin is a professor of the University of Bern and since 2004 has been working as a representative of the UN Secretary-General on the human rights of refugees and IDPs.
