Huge Azeri flag removed over powerful wind
BAKU – The massive Azerbaijani flag hoisted in Baku on Wednesday was removed two days later.
Images posted on the internet show that the powerful wind that began in the capital Thursday night had torn the flag, which was erected in the city’s Bayil settlement, therefore, it was taken down the next morning.
The national flag, hoisted at the National Flag Square, is said to be the world's largest, at 70 meters by 35 meters long and weighing a staggering 350 kilograms. It was unveiled in a ceremony attended by President Ilham Aliyev.
