Azeri ministry official charged with brutal murder
BAKU - An Azerbaijani Justice Ministry official is accused of brutally murdering his relative in his home on Sunday.
The 35-year-old Penitentiary Service representative, Maj. Habil Bayramov stabbed Ismayil Allahverdiyev, head of Bilajari Energy Supply and Energy Sales section, 71 times for the purpose of illicit gain. He committed the crime together with Faig Yahyayev, a 36-year-old unemployed citizen, the Prosecutor-General’s Office said.
Allahverdiyev’s screams were heard by his relatives, who live in the same building, and they immediately called the police.
Then, Bayramov jumped out of the window of the apartment, located on the fifth floor, but was unable to get up due to a heavy injury.
The police found Allahverdiyev’s dead body after breaking the apartment door. Yahyayev was seized at the crime scene.
A criminal case has been opened.
