New election bloc to be set up in Azerbaijan
BAKU - A new election bloc is being established in Azerbaijan ahead of the November 7 parliamentary elections, a party leader has said.
Fazil Mustafa, chairman of the Great Establishment Party that adheres to a mild opposition stance, said that along with his party, the bloc will include the pro-opposition United Azerbaijan Popular Front and Justice parties.
"Active discussions are currently underway among the three parties on setting up a new election bloc," Mustafa said. "The title of the bloc has yet to be determined."
Mustafa added that the talks are due to be finalized and the new organization announced next week."
