Int'l law in favor of Azerbaijan on Karabakh issue: German diplomat
BAKU – International law is in favor of Azerbaijan in the Upper (Nagorno) Karabakh issue", the counselor for political affairs of the German embassy in Azerbaijan, Mr. Florian Peters, was quoted as saying.
The German diplomat told the Azerbaijani Youth Euro-Atlantic Organization meeting in Baku on Tuesday that a long-term solution to the conflict would be based on compromises.
The presentation of the organization’s project "Peace vs. Victory: where do we stand?" was held during the meeting.
OSCE senior advisor in Baku Marco Kubny said he welcomes such confidence-building projects.
"Both sides need to display political will for the resolution to the conflict".
The project, sponsored by the German Foreign Ministry, is aimed at organizing discussions among Azerbaijani citizens to study their views and capability to reach compromise.
