Internet domains expanding in Azerbaijan
BAKU - 10,035 active Internet domains are currently available in
Azerbaijan, according to the Ministry of Communication and
Information Technologies.
In May and June alone, 60 new domains – with the .az extension –
were registered.
Every year, more than 2,000 such domains begin operating in the
country with a fast-growing ICT sector.
Opening a domain costs 20 manats ($25) in Azerbaijan. The same fee
is paid every year for technical support.
National Internet domains were launched in August 1993.*
