Mediators hold meetings in Garabagh
The Russian and US co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group brokering
settlement to the Upper (Nagorno) Garabagh conflict met with the
leaders of the separatist regime in the Armenia-occupied Upper
(Nagorno) Garabagh region of Azerbaijan on Friday.
The co-chairmen’s talks with Bako Saakian, the leader of the self-proclaimed republic, lasted two hours, Armenian media reported.
Igor Popov, the Russian co-chair, said the discussions focused on the issues tabled during the June 17 meeting between the presidents of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan that took place in St. Petersburg and the intense shooting on the Armenia-Azerbaijan frontline that immediately followed.
