A group of prosecutors faced tough disciplinary action in Azerbaijan.
According to the order of Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov, some officials of Sumgait prosecutor's office and the department for the investigation and operational activity of internal bodies of the General Prosecutor's Office were brought to strict disciplinary actions for incomplete and biased conduct of the investigation of specific criminal cases, illegal activities as a result of violations of rights of perpetrators, the General Prosecutor's Office said.
Deputy Head of Control Department for law enforcement in the investigation and operational-search activities of internal affairs Muhammed Jabbarov was dismissed.
All prosecutors got specific guidance to improve the quality of the investigative process and enhance prosecutorial control over the procedural guidance of the preliminary investigation and criminal cases.
