OSCE monitors Azeri-Armenian frontline after intense clash
An OSCE monitoring held on the contact line of the Azerbaijani and Armenian troops on Thursday concluded without incidents, according to the Azerbaijan Defense Ministry.
The monitoring, held south of a village in Azerbaijan’s Goranboy region, took place in an area where Armenian troops launched an attack on the Azerbaijani positions last Friday night. Yerevan reported that four Armenian soldiers were killed and four others wounded in the fighting, while one Azerbaijani soldier was later found dead in a neutral zone.
The personal representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Andrzej Kasprzyk, said after the monitoring that work was underway to arrange the handover of the dead Azerbaijani serviceman’s body.
"I am dealing with the political side of this issue, while technical matters are being addressed by the International Committee of the Red Cross," Kasprzyk said. "I will contact them and the Armenian military. I am hopeful that we will achieve repatriation of the dead body."*
