Medvedev hosts Azeri, Armenian leaders
Azerbaijani, Armenian and Russian presidents held a trilateral meeting in Russia on Thursday. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev’s meeting with his counterparts, Ilham Aliyev and Serzh Sarkisian, took place at the Konstantinov Palace in St. Petersburg, Russian RIA Novosti news agency reported.
Medvedev said this was the sixth meeting held in this format and that "in my view, this is not a small number".
During the discussions between the three leaders, speaking with journalists present, weather came up. President Medvedev noted with regret that the weather in St. Petersburg was currently not very warm.
"At this time, usually, it gets colder for some reason, though it has been much warmer – it was very warm in May, it was just abnormally warm in Moscow and St. Petersburg," Medvedev said.
The meeting proceeded without journalists. No details of the discussions are available at this point.
The trilateral meeting was held on the sidelines of the International Economic Forum.
Such a meeting took place during last year’s International Economic Forum held in the Russian city, and the leaders held talks on ways of settling the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Upper (Nagorno) Garabagh. The latest trilateral meeting of Presidents Aliyev, Sarkisian and Medvedev took place later, this January, in Russia's Black Sea town of Sochi.*
