Aliyev opens new migration service building
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Tuesday inaugurated a new
building for the State Migration Service.
The seven-story building with a total area of 7,944 square meters had been built over 17 months.
The Single Migration Data System was installed in the building in an effort to tighten control over immigration. The system allows to thoroughly track down foreigners and stateless persons’ activities following their entry to the country.
A video surveillance system was set up to monitor what is going on in the State Migration Service’s regional offices in Yevlakh, Shirvan, Lankaran and Khachmaz as well as detention centers for illegal aliens.
An around-the-clock hotline has been introduced to inform foreigners and people without citizenship as well Azerbaijani nationals.*
