Azerbaijan to make drones - minister
Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense Industry and an Israeli company
are expected to sign an agreement on manufacturing drones soon,
according to Minister Yaver Jamalov. The company in question was
not specified.
The minister said talks were underway with the Israeli company,
saying the deal on joint production of such planes was already "at
the stage of signing".
"There were certain technical issues outstanding between the sides,
and this issue has now found its solution. Azerbaijan will hold a
51 percent stake in these projects...The foreign company will bring
in its technology."
Jamalov said Azerbaijan plans to produce both intelligence drones
and warplanes. The warplanes will be equipped with remotely
controlled missiles and air bombs.*
