Saudi envoy gets top award
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev issued a decree
on Friday to confer the outgoing ambassador of Saudi Arabia Ali
Hasan Jafar with the country's highest award, the Order of
Honor.
The award marks the diplomat's contribution to the development of
friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries.
President Aliyev received Amb. Jafar on the same day. He said
political and economic relations between Azerbaijan and Saudi
Arabia developed successfully during the envoy's diplomatic
mission.
The Azerbaijani leader also said his visits to Saudi Arabia were
important in terms of expanding bilateral relations. Afterwards,
President Aliyev presented the order to the Saudi diplomat.
Jafar expressed his gratitude for the award and said he would
continue friendly relations with Azerbaijan.
