Azerbaijan, Kuwait to hold youth festival
Azerbaijan and Kuwait agreed to hold a festival of the two countries’ youths during the meetings held in Baku by Faisal Musaed Al-Jazzaf, Director General of the Kuwaiti Public Authority for Youth and Sport (PAYS).
Addressing a news conference Tuesday, Al-Jazzaf did not specify the timing of the festival, but said it is expected to last a week in each country.
He said Kuwait is looking to hold the event annually in an effort to ensure sustainable relations with Azerbaijan. "We want this festival to take place in connection with state holidays in Azerbaijan and Kuwait every year and to cover many fields related to youths."
Al-Jazzaf noted that the agreement on youth and sports cooperation, due to be signed on Friday, will give an incentive to the expansion of bilateral relations.
"Both countries’ governments wish to expand relations. This agreement will help to further strengthen Azerbaijan-Kuwait ties in the area of youths. The document envisions broad and comprehensive cooperation. We will implement joint projects. For example, trainings of Kuwaiti sports teams and those of Azerbaijani athletes in Kuwait can be arranged. Azerbaijan has great experience and accomplishments in the area of sports. Kuwaiti athletes will benefit from that experience."*
