Singaporean minister calls for execution of UN resolutions on Garabagh
The UN Security Council resolutions on the Upper (Nagorno) Garabagh
conflict must be executed, Singaporean Foreign Minister George
Yong-Boon Yeo told a news conference after a meeting with
Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov in Baku on Friday.
He said Singapore was in favor of a settlement on the basis of international legal norms.
Speaking on the meeting results, Mammadyarov said an agreement on investment and taxation issues had been mulled with his Singaporean colleague. "We have also discussed prospects for cooperation in the area of education, conducting culture campaigns, and adopted a joint statement."
George Yong-Boon Yeo said the sides had discussed opportunities for opening air communication between the two countries. "We will see now whether there is a need for signing an agreement on that. I will discuss this issue at home."
The minister added that talks were currently underway on introducing simplified visa regulations between the countries. *
