Sarkozy congratulates Azeri first lady on top award
French President Nicolas Sarkozy has sent a letter to
Azerbaijan’s First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva congratulating her on the
recent conferral under his decree with the Legion of Honor,
France’s top state award.
"This well-known prize, which I decided to award you from my
personal fund, is an acknowledgement of your outstanding
contribution and loyalty to France," Sarkozy wrote about Aliyeva’s
award, which was issued in the Officer rank.
In her reply, the first lady expressed gratitude, adding that she
will spare no efforts to further promote the friendly relations
between Azerbaijan and France, AzerTAj state news agency
reported.*
