Nearly 700 foreigners deported from Azerbaijan in January
Almost 700 foreign nationals were ordered to leave Azerbaijan in
January over violations, according to immigration authorities.
491 expatriates were deported within 48 hours, while 196 others were ordered to leave the country according to administrative regulations, the State Migration Service said.
Immigration officials’ efforts aiming to combat illegal immigration conducted in the reporting period revealed violations of administrative laws by 968 foreign citizens, but 281 of them were merely fined and their stay in Azerbaijan was legalized.*
