Senegal seeks to host Azeri embassy
Senegal has suggested that Azerbaijan move its embassy based in
Morocco to its territory. The statement was made by the head of the
Senegalese presidential administration Abdoulaye Balde on a visit
to Baku.
Senegal's embassy on Azerbaijan is based in Moscow, but Balde said that if Baku delegates its diplomats to his country his government would follow suit.
The senior official was in Baku last week to extend an invitation to President Ilham Aliyev to attend a summit of the Organization of Islamic Conference due in Senegal March 12-13. The event will focus on the problems faced by Muslim nations, the situation in Palestine and ways of fighting Islamic phobia.
