Azercell seen as advocate for children’s rights
Azerbaijan’s leading cellular operator, Azercell,
has led the way among winners of the "Leave no child behind" award,
which has been conferred for three years.
The annual award, established by the Hopeful Future youth organization, jointly with the NGO Alliance for Children’s Rights, marks contributions made by both private individuals and organizations to the protection of children’s rights.
In the past years Azercell Telecom was named twice as the benefactor private company of the year. In 2009, Azercell was recognized as the Corporate Social Responsibility Company of the Year for its advocacy of kids’ rights. The award was presented for the company’s implementing a slew of socially responsible projects throughout the year, as well as the "Every child needs a family" campaign organized in conjunction with the Azerbaijani government, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and UNICEF, and supporting the project on building a mobile dental clinic for children in dire need.*
