Talks underway to arrange Azeri, Armenian lawmakers’ meeting
Talks are underway on arranging the next meeting between the lawmakers of Azerbaijan and Armenia, with the timing and venue of discussions yet to be determined, the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu has said.
Bulbuloglu said such meetings aim to forge ties between the two countries’ nations and communities. According to him, sooner or later, contacts should be started between Azerbaijanis and Armenians, who were destined to co-exist.
"We haven’t talked to each other for a long time, which has caused negative views to shape up. Communication is needed to eliminate them. Naturally, such meetings cannot facilitate a drastic solution of the problem. Garabagh conflict settlement depends on key policymakers," the ambassador said.
Azerbaijan and Armenia have been locked in conflict for nearly two decades. The two countries’ MPs held their first meeting in Moscow on October 22.*
