Group falsely referring to Heydar Aliyev Foundation nabbed
Azerbaijan’s National Security Ministry has detained a group
engaged in fraud by deceiving citizens, according to the
ministry.
Investigators have established that three persons previously convicted over fraud had conspired with four others to engage in illegal activities. Having used the technical capabilities of Master Design, a construction engineering company owned by one of the group’s members, they were drafting forged contracts and projects and submitting them to numerous businessmen. The outlaws promised construction orders allegedly financed by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and government agencies. They illegally acquired property, inflicting considerable damage to the entrepreneurs.
It has been ascertained that the group’s members fraudulently acquired 809,000 manats (over $1 million) and $300,000 in the past two years.*
